Lemoncrafts summer challenge - Christmas in July

This challenge was a bit tricky for me since I don't have any of the Christmas collections from Lemoncraft (yet), so I went through all the Lemoncraft papers I have, and realised that it was possibly to use some of the paper from the Gossamer Blue collection. And there is actually also a sheet from the Heart Painted collection that could also be used, since it has the sheet music for Little Jack Frost. But this time I went for the Gossamer Blue.
The light blue wood pattern is from the 12x12 collection and the other is from the 6x6 paper pad. I used some white cardstock to create the little hills and for the trees, which are cut out with Sue Wilson Christmas Trees dies. The squares are cut out with Spellbinders Matting basics 6x6. For the tag I used a Nellie Snellen die, some snowflake dies from Impression Obsession and the wording is a Tattered Lace die. I used some Frosted lace Stickles for the trees and the hills and decorated with some halfpearls from my stash. Finally I drew with a very fine brown pen around the Happy Christmas wording to make it stand out a little more.

This was the first Christmas card this year, I better get started on making some more, since Christmas will be here before we know it.

Lemoncraft summer challenge - Back in time

As I have written before Lemoncraft is having some summer challenges, their first one was with the theme "Back in time". I decided to make another LO for this challenge, originally I was going to make one with a picture of my son, but I wasn't satisfied with the match between the picture and the colors on the paper I had, so I went through my photo's and found a couple of old pictures of my oldest daughter, Isabella, who is now 13. On the pictures she is only 1 year old, and it was her first trip to a zoo, and she was very excited to see all the animals.
For this LO I used paper from the Everyday Spring collection, I just love the greens and pinks in this collection. I painted the paper with clear gesso and after it dried I used modelling paste and a stencil from The Crafter's Workshop, and stenciled two doilies. After the paste was dry I sprayed with 3 different inks from Dylusions: Cherry pie, White linen and Black marble. I diecut 2 doilies in dark pink cardstock using a die from Intricut. I handcut some squares to put behind my pictures and I diecut some flowers using Spellbinders Make a wish-die. All the flowers are from WOC, the butterflies, sequins and halfpearls are all from my stash. For the sentence I used a stamp that was a magazine freebie and used some cream colored embossing powder.

Lemoncraft summer challenge "My favorite"

Another of Lemoncrafts 4 summer challenge is creating something inspired by the words: My favorite. So I decided to create a very girly card, which is my favorite, and I also used some of my favorite dies, which are the Elegant Ovals from Spellbinders.
For this card I used paper from Lemoncrafts two collections "Everyday Spring" and "Just love me". As I have already mentioned I used dies from Spellbinders but also from Marianne Design, LR0455, which I haven't had for very long yet, but it might also turn into a favorite. The flowers and the center of the ribbon is from WOC, the ribbon is from IKEA, halfpearls and cheesecloth from my stash. The largest of the Ovals is inked with Spun Sugar and Victorian Velvet from Tim Holtz. I didn't distress the edges this time, but I made the edges wet and used my fingers to "distress" them. Cute (Layout of Rebecca)

I made a layout for my youngest daughter, since I had found this really cute picture of her dressed up in a Bratz costume, which we at some point had bought for our oldest daughter. Rebecca thought it was a princess costume and wore it as such, complete with a tiara and high heel shoes.
When I saw the old picture I just knew, that it would match the Gossamer Blue and Everyday Spring collections from Lemoncraft perfectly, and sure enough it was a perfect match.

Besides the already mentioned collections from Lemoncraft, I also cut out 2 butterflies from the diecut sheet from the Forget Me Not collection. After glueing the 2 pieces of cardstock together, I painted it with clear gesso and let it dry. The chipboard pieces, which are from Blue Fern (cute), SnipArt (frame) and Anemone/Scrapek (swirl and branches) was all painted with white gesso first, afterwards the swirl and the branches were painted with white acrylic paint and the word and the frame was embossed with some embossing powder from my stash (no brand). With a mix of modelling paste and white gesso, I stenciled a chicken wire pattern using a stencil from Dutch Doobadoo. I also sprayed some white Dylusions ink and Pergamano ink (pearl blue and fuchsia) on the background and with the blue ink I painted randomly on the corrugated paper. I die cut a doily out of white cardstock using a die from Intricut, and the large blue and pink flowers are made with dies from Nellie Snellen and Lemoncraft paper. The rest of the flowers are from WOC, except for the small blue roses, which are from my stash. Finally I decorated with some pink sequins and used some Liquid Pearls Ballerina on the chipboard branches.

And now for some close-ups:

The framed picture

With this LO I participate in Lemoncrafts summer challenge Picture Perfect. When I read about their challenge I knew right away, that I had to make a layout with this picture, because it's funny and cute at the same time - a perfect picture.

Maskuline birthday cards

July 22nd two of my colleagues turned respectively 40 and 50 and I offered to make their cards, which no one objected to. I made each card personally.

First the card for Stig, who plays electric guitar in our company band:
The background paper is from a paper pad from Joy Crafts, which only has sheet music. The white, silver and black cardstock as well as the black corrugated paper is from my stash. The guitar I found on Pinterest and is fuzzycut. I have used dies from Spellbinders (6x6 Matting Basics) and Marianne Design (40 and the star). The banner is cut by hand. I decorated it with some cheese cloth, some buttons and some black halfpearls.

The second card is for Jesper, who used to be a mechanic and still likes to work on cars, he likes to fix things and ride his bike:
For this card I used grey cardstock from my stash, paper, stickers, text and chipboard from Kaisercraft. The topper is from Dixi Craft. I have only used dies from the 6x6 Matting Basics from Spellbinders. I decorated it with a few square halfpearls and a sticker (Tillykke) from my stash.

Boyish birthday card

Back in June my youngest nephew turned 17 and I made this very simple (CAS?) card for him:
The wooden blue paper is from UHK Gallery, and the dark blue and white is from my stash. The dark blue is actually a little shiny, but the picture is not of a very good quality so it is hard to see. I used the usual 6x6 Matting Basics dies from Spellbinders, and besides that I sed dies from Marianne Design (the star), Dixi Craft (the numbers) and Tattered Lace (the words). I decorated with a few halfpearls from my stash.

Wedding card in blue and white

I got a reguest for a wedding card, and the colors was up to me, so I decided to use the colors from Lemoncrafts moodboard:

This is the card I made for the wedding:

And the inside of the card:
For this card I used papers from Lemoncrafts Gossamer Blue collection and some light blue cardstock. I used the following dies: Spellbinders 6x6 Matting Basics and Elegant Ovals, Joy Craft Sending Love, Decorative frames from Sue Wilsons Italian collection and a China die for the sprigs behind the flowers. The chipboard I think is from Anemone and it is painted with white Gesso and decorated with some light blue halfpearls from my stash. The flowers are from WOC. The edges of the paper are distressed and inked with Memento's Summer sky. And finally I used some cheese cloth which is also inked with Summer sky and some more halfpearls.

With this card I'm participating in Lemoncrafts challenge.

Birthday cards

Two of my friends had a birthday on July 14th, so I made a card for each of them, using the Summertime collection from Maja Design. For the first one I tried to make a CAS (clean and simple) card for the first time. That was actually very difficult since I like to add bling, ribbon etc. But I think it turned out okay.

I have only used dies from Spellbinders: 6x6 Matting Basics, Make a wish (D-lites) and Sentiments one. Besides that I used some vellum and some red halfpearls.

For my other friend I made a different card, this one was a little easier for me to make.
Again I used the 6x6 Matting Basics from Spellbinders, the rest of the squares I cut by hand. All the squares are distressed, and the same is the piece of border. The border and the picture of the bike are also from the Summertime collection. The chipboard is from Anemone, the flowers from WOC and the leaves are cut out with a China die. For the final touches I used some cheese cloth and halfpearls.

With both of these cards I'm participating in Maja Designs Mood Board challenge for July/August. This is their moodboard:

Silver anniversary

Back in May my sweet colleague Grethe and her husband celebrated that they had been married for 25 years. I made a card for them to go with the present from her colleagues.
I am not sure but I think I used papers from UHK Gallery, and the picture is from Pion Design. The squares are cut out with Spellbinders dies and distressed and inked. Besides that I have used dies from Sue Wilson, Nellie Snellen (circles and text) and Impression Obsession. Both the text and the hearts was embossed with silver embossing powder. The flowers are from WOC and my stash. For the final touches I used some halfpearls, cheesecloth and pearlstring.

I also gave them a bottle of wine as a present and that gave me the opportunity to try something new.
I had found a template on Pinterest, but it took me several tries to get it to fit the bottle and then I still ended up making it a little too long, but I think it turned out nice. I used papers from UHK Gallery, and another picture from Pion Design. The chipboard is some I bought at a local supermarket a while back and I embossed it with silver embossing powder. The long pieces was distressed and inked with black, and I used a lace ribbon at the top and bottom from my stash. The flowers are from WOC and my stash and the ribbon is also from my stash.

Birthday card for Rebecca

Last month my youngest daughter turned 8, so of course I had to make a card for her. We are always joking about how she is our little princess, so that is the theme for the card.
I used papers from Pion Design, flowers from WOC, cheese cloth, half pearls and for the number I used a die from DixiCraft. The crown is from my stash and I think I bought ithis in a Euro-store in Germany.

Birthday card

I while back I made this card. Originally I made it for my sister but then a colleague asked me if I had a card in stock she could use for a friend's birthday, so I showed her a picture of this one and she liked it and bought it.
For this card I used some brown cardstock from my stash and some paper from First Edition, from a 6 x 6 paper pad called The Promise. I distressed the edges on the squares and inked them with a Tim Holtz Distress Ink (I can not remember which one). Once again I have used the square dies and the Elegant Ovals from Spellbinders, and the ovals was also inked. The leaf/branch behind the flowers are from Sizzix. The rosebuds are from my stash and the others are from WOC. Finally a put some half pearls and a ribbon from my stash on. I also decorated the inside of the card.
