Christmas gift tags

Christmas is getting very close now, tomorrow is the big day here in DK, and I am ready for it: all the presents are bought, the groceries are bought and the tree is decorated. All we need to do is to put ribbon and gift tags on the presents and put them under the tree, which my husband and I will do tonight after the kids have gone to bed. I made a few gift tags this year as well, some of them turned out really nice others not so much, but we will use them anyway:

Christmas goodies

These goodies I have made for Christmas every year for the last 6 years, and sometimes for other occassions as well. They are seriously addictive, so don't say I didn't warn you ;-).

I make a big batch of them, because I know they will dissappear fast. The recipe can be found in Danish here: http://heidiskagesjov.blogspot.com/2012/07/konfektkager.html

Christmas flowers

The other day we had guests and I just want to share the beautiful bouquet they brought us:

I just love the red and green colors, perfect here for Christmas :-).

Today was the last day of work, I am now off until next year, yeah :-).

Last Christmas card for this time

I love poinsettias and snowflakes for Christmas cards, so on this card I combined the 2 things:
This was actually the first Christmas card I made this fall, but for some reason it came on the blog last. For this card I have used dies from Spellbinders - Matting Basics 6x6 and Poinsettias, the background is from Card Making Magic, the banner from Marianne Design and the words from Dan Dies. I have used white, silver, red glitter cardstock and vellum for the flowers. I used 3 halfpearls for the flower centers.

Christmas card in gold and pink

Using pink on a Christmas card is a bit out of my comfort zone when making Christmas cards, but Maja Design has so much beautiful Christmas paper, so I decided to go for it:
I have used papers from Maja Designs Vintage Frost Basic collection together with brown and gold cardstock. I used dies from Spellbinders Matting basics 6x6, Impression Obsession - poinsettia and the Snowflake Border from Precious Marieke. I used a few halfpearls from my stash, some stars that was scrap pieces from the snowflake border, some ribbon and a sticker.

Christmas card with gilded flakes

On this card I tried something new which was working with gilding flakes. I have had a container of it in my stash for more than 15 years, but I have never tried to work with it before. But it does give a very nice effect, so I will definitely try it again, even though it is very messy.
For this card I have used some red paper with a gold print from my stash plus some white cardstock. I have used dies from Sue Wilson - Lattice Window and from Spellbinders - Elegant Ovals. And I decorated it with a few halfpearls from my stash, a very simple but elegant looking card.

Snowman Christmas card

This card is a bit more time consuming but I think it is worth using the extra time on making a pretty card:
For this card I used white and a dusty blue cardstock from my stash + paper from Craft and You's "Frozen Paper" collection, the image of the snowman is also from that collection. I have used dies from Spellebinder - Matting Basics 6x6, Sue Wilson - "Eve" and "Frosty corner" from the festive collection, the Happy Christmas is from Tattered Lace and the pine branch is from Marianne Design. Flowers, halfpearls and ribbon is from my stash. The border around the image is diecut 4 times and then glued together to make an raised frame, I think it adds a nice effect to the image.

Dec 16, 2018

Red glitter Christmas card

Todays card is another quick card which can be nice at this time of the year:
For this card I used white, silver and red glitter cardstock and red glitter tape. I also used a chipboard snowflake from my stash. The only dies used here are the big snowflake from Dovecraft + the little oval which is from one of the Christmas sets that Sue Wilson has created. The chipboard snow flake is covered with glitter.

Card with Christmas bauble

I have bought a lot of Christmas dies throughout the years, so this year I am trying to use as many different ones as I can. This is another example of that:
For this card I have used papers from Galeria Papieru from their "The Cricket on the Hearth" collection. I also used red and green cardstock. Dies are from Spellbinders - Matting basics 6x6, Eve from Sue Wilsons festive collection, the wreath is from Sara Davies Signature collection and the bauble is from Dixi Craft. Flowers and halfpearls are from my stash.

Dec 14, 2018

Christmas card with Santa

I have made another Christmas card this and this time Santa is starring on the card:
I have used red, green and shiny silver cardstock and the paper with trees as well as the Santa image are from Kaisercrafts "Silent Night Collection". I have used dies from Spellbinders - Matting Basics 6x6 and Elegant Ovals, Sue Wilsons Festive Collection and the tree is from Dixi Craft. I dressed it up with a few halfpearls and a sticker which says Merry Christmas in Danish.

Christmas baking

It is time to start baking the Christmas cookies so here is William working on making the dough for "pebernødder".
Besides "pebernødder" we are going to make "brunkager" and "vaniljekranse" and when we get a little closer to Christmas we are gonna make the sweets we usually have. They have to be made last, because once they are made, they have a tendency to disappear very fast ;-).

Dec 12, 2018

Snowflake Christmas card

This is also a very quick card to make:
I used some shiny silver cardstock and some speciality paper from my stash which had silver stars on it, it has been in my stash for so many years, that I have no idea where I bought it, and I used Spellbinders Matting Basics 6x6 for the squares. For the snowflake I used the Winter Snowflake from Tonic Studios. I used some parchment paper and Marianne Design COL1398 for the banner and the phrase is a sticker.

Wedding anniversary card

My husband and I just celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary on Dec. 6th. Amazing how times fly. I made him this card which could easily be used as a Valentine's Day card as well:
I only used regular cardstock for this card, no designer papers. I used dies from Marianne Design (the bear) and Sue Wilson (the hearts). I don't know which brand the stamp is from.

We celebrated the day by going to the movies just the 2 of us, where we saw "A star is born". I am not a fan of Lady Gaga, but I think she did really well with the acting in this movie and there is a lot of good music in it.

Blue birthday card

Rebecca was invited to two of her class mates birthday party and so I made two identical cards for her to bring. Apparantly blue is the "in"-color when you reach 9, I also remember that from my oldest daughter, so different shades of blue plus white cardstock is what I used for these 2 cards, and since they are identical, I'll just show one:
For this card I used almost all the dies from the "Fancy Nesting Circles" from Card Making Magic. I also used the Spellbinders Matting Basics 6x6 and Marianne Design COL1347 (number) and I decorated it with some halfpearls from my stash.

Dec 9, 2018

Christmas card with window

For this card I just used solid colored cardstock – white, red and gold:
I used dies from:
Spellbinders – Matting Basics 6x6
Spellbinders – Layered Poinsettia
Marianne Design – CR1378
Marianne Design – COL1398
Marianne Design – LR0392
Dan Dies – God Jul
Dixi Craft – MD0005

Besides the dies I used an embossing folder with brick pattern (don't know the brand) and a topper from Dixi Craft. For decorations I used snow paste from Pentart and some halfpearls from my stash.

Dec 8, 2018

Golden Christmas card

Another easy solution if you need to make a quick Christmas card:
I used gold glitter cardstock, gold cardstock and white cardstock. For the squares I used Spellbinders Matting basics 6x6, the candles are the "Glowing candles" die from Memory Box, and the words are a die from Dan Dies.

Christmas decorations

As usual this year I made 2 Christmas decorations with candlelights, a calendar decoration and an advent decoration, this is how they look, sorry about the quality of the pictures, the lighting is very poor at the moment:

A calendar decoration is very traditionally here in Denmark, it is a way to count down to Christmas. Each day you light up the candle until you have burnt it down just past today's date.
An advent decoration is also very traditionally to light up the last 4 Sundays before Christmas. You start with lighting up the first candle on the first Sunday, but don't burn it all the way down. The next Sunday you light up 2 candles and so on.

Christmas card with snowman

Another Maja Design Christmas card:
Again I used my scrap pieces, and even though I have used a lot of that recently I still seem to have a lot left. For the snow flakes I used white card stock and dies from Dovecraft "Christmas Basics snow flakes". I added a few halfpearls for decoration.

Dec 5, 2018

Christmas card with stars

For this card I found the inspiration on Pinterest.
Again I used Maja Design scrap pieces. The stars where made with Crea-Nest-Lies XXL no. 19 stars. The square is cut out with Spellbinders Matting Basics 6x6. And I added a few halfpearls from my stash.

Dec 4, 2018

Christmas card

I have really been trying to use my Maja Design scrap pieces lately, since I have a lot of those, and that also goes for this card:
It was a very easy card to make and these are the dies I used:
Spellbinders – Matting basics 6x6
Sue Wilson – Winter trees (Festive collection)
DixiCraft – MD0045
Marianne Design – LR0482
Dan Dies – God Jul

I used some Stickles "Frosted Lace" for the trees and the snow hills to add some snow glitter. Besides the paper from Maja Design, I used some white and shiny gold card stock.

Box for Christmas cards

Part of my birthday present for Grethe was a box with 6 christmas cards in it. I used a box which had contained a gift certificate and decorated the front with a Christmas theme:

Again I used leftover pieces from Maja Design, for the deers I used Sue Wilsons "Deer family" from the Festive Collection. I added a few star halfpearls for decoration.

Birthday card for Grethe

My other sweet colleague Grethe also just had her birthday, for her I made this card:
Again I just Maja Design papers, but some leftover pieces but also some from the Celebration collections 6x6 paperpad. I also use some straws, lace flowers from China, halfpearls and flowers from WOC.

I am still here...

...but we moved in September, and so my craft stuff was packed away for a while, and after I unpacked and made my crafting area ready I had a hard time getting started again. But lately I have been very busy, so it is time to start blogging again.

My sweet colleague Sofie had her birthday in the middle of november and I made her this card, solely with leftover Maja Design papers:
I tore some of the paper and some I distressed. I decorated with a few splashes of Lindys Stamp Gang "Sidewalk chalk" and some pink paillettes.

Bike card

One of my colleagues, who's also a spinning instructor on one of our teams, has unfortunately decided to quit, since she got a new job. The people from her Tuesday class (me among others) decided to get her a farewell basket with some goodies, and I made a card for her as well. This is probably the closest I get to make CAS cards, since I usually decorate them more. Here is the card:
I have used grey, pink and white cardstock plus paper from Lemoncrafts "Daydream" collection. I think the picture is from Google, the squares are cut with Matting basics 6x6 from Spellbinders, the frame is a die from China, and the bike is from DixiCraft. The card is decorated with grey and pink halfpearls.

Golden anniversary card

A colleague of mine asked me if I could make a card for his parents who had been married for 50 years, here that is called gold wedding anniversary. Only request was that there was a prison theme, since the present was a stay in a former prison, which has been turned into a hotel.
I used papers from Maja Designs "Vintage Romance" collection, white and gold cardstock. The image I found on Google. I used the following dies: Sue Wilson - frame from "Happily ever after", Nellie Snellen "Guldbryllup" and Joy Crafts 6002/0252.

Silver anniversary card

My colleague Allan and his wife just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary (aka silver anniversary) last week. Of course they were getting a present from us, his colleagues, and I made this card for them:
I used paper from "Crelando" (found it at a Lidl grocery store), white and silver cardstock. The dies are from Joy Crafts (6002/0252), Sue Wilson (frame from Happily Ever After) and an alphabet and number die from a Die Cutting Essentials magazine.
The picture is from Pion Design and flowers are from WOC.

Family layout

Recently I made a layout with a picture of my husband together with his siblings and his mom. It was taken on my husband and his twin sister's birthday several years ago. Here is the layout:
I really had fun making this layout and I am very happy with how it turned out. I used papers from Maja Design ("Worn Indigo" from the Denim & Friends collection and "Stark och Fri" from the Crea Diem collection + a piece from the 6x6 Denim & Friends paper pad). The paper was first covered with clear gesso and when that dried I added some white gesso all around the edge of the papers. I used a stencil from TCW called "Mini sketch grid" and added some modelling paste. The ornaments chipboard pieces are from Scrapek and covered with white gesso and a Lindys Stamp Gang spray - Flat Fabio Kissin Kenickie Coral. The chipboard letters are from Craft Emotion and covered with My Mojito green from Lindys Stamp Gang. Flowers are from WOC and China. Buttons, butterflies, jewellery pieces and art stones are from my stash. Here are some close-ups:

Card for a baby girl

I bought some new paper from a company called Piatek Trzynastego (Polish brand) and they have some really amazing paper. I bought a 6x6 paperpad called "Cute & Co" and it is perfect for baby/kids cards. Here is the card:
I also used white and black cardstock. I have used dies from Spellbinders - Elegant Ovals and Matting Basics 6x6, Marianne Design - giraffe, Banner with letters - China die. Halfpearls, ribbon and Tillykke sticker is from my stash.

Card for Sofie

My colleague Sofie finished her education as a media graphics last week, so I was asked to make her a card to go with the present. I choose to make a very feminine card since that is what I love. I used pink paper and paper from Maja Designs "Crea Diem" collection. I have used dies from Spellbinders - Matting basics 6x6, Card Making Magic - banner, China die - leafs on branch and the square in the middle. Chipboard is "Wild flowers #3" from Dusty Attic and they are painted with white gesso and decorated with Liquid Pearls - Ballerina. Flowers are homemade foamiran and flowers from WOC. Other decorations are halfpearls, buttons and ribbon. The text is printed on white cardstock. Here is the card:
For the foamiran flowers I used dies from Nellie Snellen. I used white foamiran and colored them with some old Pergamano pastels in 2 different blue shades. With this card I participate in Scrap and Crafts June challenge - DIY flowers.

Birthday card for my Godmother

Well, it's hot in Denmark and has been for over a month now, which is very unusual, but I am loving it. Only problem is that I don't feel like being inside and scrapping, so it's a good thing that I have a lot of cards which I haven't blogged about yet.

This card I made for my Godmother and it is a very summer like card in my opinion, which I knew she would like. Here's the card:
Papers are from Maja Designs "Summertime" collection and red cardstock. I used dies from Spellbinders "Matting basics 6x6", Dixicraft  (letters and numbers) and a die from China. The tags are fussy cut from the same Maja Design collection. All the flowers are from WOC, halfpearls and ribbon are from my stash.

Birthday cake for Kathrine

Last month my friends daughter Kathrine turned 18 and requested a cake with goats on it, since she was getting some goats a few days after her birthday. I told her that I couldn't make goats (which I could see disappointed her) and I told her I would make a girly and feminine cake for her instead, because I like to make that kind of cakes. So she agreed to that. But to surprise her I decided to try to make some goats after all, and I think they turned out okay. Here is the cake:

The cake consisted of 3 layers of champagne cake, 1 layer of Toblerone mousse and 1 layer of Baileys mousse. Frosted with UCF and Royal Icing.

Birthday card for Knud

A colleague of mine ordered a card for her brothers 50th birthday. Knud likes biking, so I found an old picture on Google that I printed and used as the focal point on the card.
I used papers and stickers from Kaisercrafts "Barber Shoppe" collection and the chipboard cogs are also from Kaisercraft. I also used some black cardstock. I have used dies from Spellbinders 6x6 Matting basics and Oval Ironwork, and for the numbers I have used a die from Marianne Design. The flowers are from WOC. The cogs are embossed with silver embossing powder.

Mortens 40th birthday card and cake

My colleague Morten turned 40 just before Easter so we all chipped in to buy him a present and I made the card to go with it:

I have used papers from Maja Designs "Denim & Friends" collection, and the picture I found on Google. I have used dies from Spellbinders - Matting Basics 6x6, Marianne Design - Numbers, Tattered Lace - Happy Birthday and Crealies - Stars. The halfpearls are from my stash.

Since I also make cakes from time to time Morten had booked me to make a cake for his colleagues, so for once I actually got to taste the finished cake :-). Morten designed the graphics for the cake, so it was pretty easy for me. He was not happy about turning 40 - it made him feel old - hence the wheel chair.

The cake consists of 3 layers of chocolate cake, 1 layer of raspberrymousse and one layer of chocolatemousse. The cake is covered with Baileys butterfrosting before covered with homemade fondant.

Card for Sofie

A few weeks ago our media graphics trainee went to her final exam and when she came back to work we had bought a big bottle of Asti and some chocolate for her, and I made this card to go with the presents:
For this card I used papers from Lemoncrafts "Gossamer Blue" collection and some blue cardstock, and I disrespect all the edges. I have used tulle, lace from China and Lemoncraft, flowers from China and WOC, the little frame is also from China and the halfpearls are from my stash. The two tags was die cut using dies from Nellie Snellen and are tied together with some ribbon I had in my stash.
