Using your leftover scrap pieces

I have a tendency to save pretty much all of my scrap pieces, because you never know, when they might come in handy. And then about a week ago I saw on Facebook this really cool card made out of leftovers, so I had to try that myself. It is super easy so I made both a birthday card and a Christmas card.

Materials used:
Scrap leftovers and gold cardstock
Simple and Basic dies
Gittes Eget Design dies
Halfpearls

First Christmas card of 2021

Well, since today is the 24th I decided to make a Christmas card. I have seen other bloggers who have made Christmas cards every month on the 24th, but I have never done that myself, but today I really felt like making one, so maybe I'll try to do that every month, it will definitely make it easier to get them mailed on time I hope 🤞. I made one that is super easy and very flat. Most of my cards has to be mailed, and it is just more likely they will get there in one piece if they are flat.

Materials used:
Maja Design – Christmas Season 6x6 paper pack + an ephemera card from the 12x12 collection
Distress Ink – Bundled Sage
Hot foil plate and die from China
Half pearls

The image with the trees is actually from an old Christmas card, which I saved from getteing thrown in the trash can at work a few years ago. I immediately saw that I could use that for a new card, and I do have another piece left, for another card. It is a pretty simple card, but I really like how it turned out:

Materials used:
An old Christmas card
Silver and white cardstock
Gittes Eget Design dies

Christmas cards made of scrap pieces

I am a huge fan of Maja Design and use their papers for a lot of my cards and so I also have a lot of scrap pieces, because I don't have the heart to throw away all those left over pieces, even though some are very small. So I have made two Christmas cards where I have used some of my scrap pieces.

Materials used:
Maja Design - Various Christmas papers
Dies - Gittes Eget Design (Basis Rektangler & Flag, Strips Vandret)
Dies - Marianne Design (Snowflake LR0125 and Pine branch CR1378)
White cardstock
Halfpearls and hearts from my stash

Quick Christmas Cards

Last weekend I went to visit my Godparents, they are both over 80 so they are at high risk when it comes to the Corona virus, but they are good at staying at home and taking care of each other. It was really good to see that they are doing great and coping well with everything that is going on. I had made a little box with some different cards for them, so they have some for different occacions. Among them were some Christmas cards which I will show today. All the cards are made with papers that came with at magazine from Hunkydory - Cardmaking collection.

Other materials used:
Gold and Silver cardstock
White and light teal cardstock
Dies - Marianne Design, Yvonne Creatief, Card Making Magic, China die and Simple and Basic
Stars from my stash
The banner with "Glædelig Jul" is cut from an old Christmas card
and a leftover piece from a braided star

Last Christmas card for this time

I love poinsettias and snowflakes for Christmas cards, so on this card I combined the 2 things:
This was actually the first Christmas card I made this fall, but for some reason it came on the blog last. For this card I have used dies from Spellbinders - Matting Basics 6x6 and Poinsettias, the background is from Card Making Magic, the banner from Marianne Design and the words from Dan Dies. I have used white, silver, red glitter cardstock and vellum for the flowers. I used 3 halfpearls for the flower centers.

Christmas card in gold and pink

Using pink on a Christmas card is a bit out of my comfort zone when making Christmas cards, but Maja Design has so much beautiful Christmas paper, so I decided to go for it:
I have used papers from Maja Designs Vintage Frost Basic collection together with brown and gold cardstock. I used dies from Spellbinders Matting basics 6x6, Impression Obsession - poinsettia and the Snowflake Border from Precious Marieke. I used a few halfpearls from my stash, some stars that was scrap pieces from the snowflake border, some ribbon and a sticker.

Christmas card with gilded flakes

On this card I tried something new which was working with gilding flakes. I have had a container of it in my stash for more than 15 years, but I have never tried to work with it before. But it does give a very nice effect, so I will definitely try it again, even though it is very messy.
For this card I have used some red paper with a gold print from my stash plus some white cardstock. I have used dies from Sue Wilson - Lattice Window and from Spellbinders - Elegant Ovals. And I decorated it with a few halfpearls from my stash, a very simple but elegant looking card.

Snowman Christmas card

This card is a bit more time consuming but I think it is worth using the extra time on making a pretty card:
For this card I used white and a dusty blue cardstock from my stash + paper from Craft and You's "Frozen Paper" collection, the image of the snowman is also from that collection. I have used dies from Spellebinder - Matting Basics 6x6, Sue Wilson - "Eve" and "Frosty corner" from the festive collection, the Happy Christmas is from Tattered Lace and the pine branch is from Marianne Design. Flowers, halfpearls and ribbon is from my stash. The border around the image is diecut 4 times and then glued together to make an raised frame, I think it adds a nice effect to the image.

Red glitter Christmas card

Todays card is another quick card which can be nice at this time of the year:
For this card I used white, silver and red glitter cardstock and red glitter tape. I also used a chipboard snowflake from my stash. The only dies used here are the big snowflake from Dovecraft + the little oval which is from one of the Christmas sets that Sue Wilson has created. The chipboard snow flake is covered with glitter.

Card with Christmas bauble

I have bought a lot of Christmas dies throughout the years, so this year I am trying to use as many different ones as I can. This is another example of that:
For this card I have used papers from Galeria Papieru from their "The Cricket on the Hearth" collection. I also used red and green cardstock. Dies are from Spellbinders - Matting basics 6x6, Eve from Sue Wilsons festive collection, the wreath is from Sara Davies Signature collection and the bauble is from Dixi Craft. Flowers and halfpearls are from my stash.

I have made another Christmas card this and this time Santa is starring on the card:

I dressed it up with a few halfpearls and a sticker which says Merry Christmas in Danish.

Snowflake Christmas card

This is also a very quick card to make:
I used some shiny silver cardstock and some speciality paper from my stash which had silver stars on it, it has been in my stash for so many years, that I have no idea where I bought it, and I used Spellbinders Matting Basics 6x6 for the squares. For the snowflake I used the Winter Snowflake from Tonic Studios. I used some parchment paper and Marianne Design COL1398 for the banner and the phrase is a sticker.
