Isabellas birthday card

June 5th it was Isabellas 17th birthday, and as usual I made her a card, this time at the very last minute, since I had been pretty busy the week up to her birthday. Because of the Christmas stocking I had made for her, I had to get my sewing machine fixed, and so now that it is working again, I wanted to try to use it for stiching a card. I think it turned out okay, and I might use it again. Here is the result:

Materials used:
Craft-o-clock - Morning Dreams II, 6x6 collection
Grey and white cardstock
Gittes Eget Design - Tillykke die
NHH Design - leaves
Flowers from WOC
Grey soft tulle

Christmas stocking

Well, it has been a while since my last post, but I have also been busy lately, so I have also been really bad at reading other peoples blogs.

I am happy to share with you that my creative new years resolutions part 1 is done 😁. I was able to finish the stocking for Isabella in time for her to get it for her birthday yesterday, so I am really happy about that, now I can get started on the next one...Nahhh, I think I am gonna wait a little bit before I do that, cause otherwise I will not be able to complete resolution number 2, the crochet blanket for Rebeccas bed.

But I am so happy that I finally finished this one, and Isabella had no clue, that I had been working on it, so she was very surprised and happy when she opened the present, it was totally worth all the work.

Playing with Distress Ink

For this card I was playing with my Distress Inks to see if I could blend them together in a nice way, I think it worked out okay, but I would like to get my hands on some Distress Oxides since it should be easier with them. Bread baskets

Not so long ago I went to a store called Hobbii, which is a yarn store. There I bought some ribbon yarn because I wanted to try to crochet a bread basket. I used the recipe from Hobbii, which can be found on their website Hobbii.dk. I am not totally happy with the end-result, I think they are a bit wobbly, so I might have to re-do them at some point.

In the fall I purchased a hot foil machine, and when I started to play with it I unfortunately discovered that I needed a new die cutting machine, since the one I had didn't put an even pressure on the plates. Using your leftover scrap pieces

I have a tendency to save pretty much all of my scrap pieces, because you never know, when they might come in handy. And then about a week ago I saw on Facebook this really cool card made out of leftovers, so I had to try that myself. It is super easy so I made both a birthday card and a Christmas card.

Materials used:
Scrap leftovers and gold cardstock
Simple and Basic dies

Birthday card for my Godfather

My Godfather turned 86 on February 1st, but due to the pandemic and all of the restrictions we couldn't go visit, but a card is always allowed, so at least he got that. When he was younger he often went fishing on the weekends and sometimes I went with him, and since I had some paper in my stash with fish on it, I thought it was perfect for him. On the picture some of the paper look brown, but in real life it is actually more of an olive green, that was just very hard to capture.

Materials used:
UHK Gallery - Wabi Sabi collection
Distress ink - Faded jeans
Spellbinders Matting Basics 6x6 dies
Gittes Eget Desing - Tillykke Midi & Maxi

First Christmas card of 2021

Well, since today is the 24th I decided to make a Christmas card. I have seen other bloggers who have made Christmas cards every month on the 24th, but I have never done that myself, but today I really felt like making one, so maybe I'll try to do that every month, it will definitely make it easier to get them mailed on time I hope 🤞. I made one that is super easy and very flat. Most of my cards has to be mailed, and it is just more likely they will get there in one piece if they are flat.

Materials used:
Maja Design – Christmas Season 6x6 paper pack + an ephemera card from the 12x12 collection
Distress Ink – Bundled Sage
Hot foil plate and die from China
Half pearls

Crochet cloth

During my Christmas vacation I wasn't very creative, but I did manage to crochet one more dish cloth, this time in red. I'm pretty happy with how this turned out, the edges actually got pretty straight.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!!! Personally I hope that this year will be so much better than last year, but then again it doesn't take much, does it??? I think we are all looking forward to getting rid of this dreadful pandemic and hopefully 2021 will be the year where that happneds, even though we probably still has to be quite patient about seeing the end of it.

This year I have decided to make some creative new year resolutions, I think it might be a good idea to have some goals I want to reach this year:

1: I want to finish the Christmas Stocking I am making for my oldest daughter, I have been working on it for more than 6 years now, so I think it is time to finish it. I am planning on working on it, when she is at work, so she will be surprised when she gets it. This is how far I am with it:

2: I want to finish the  crochet blanket I am making for Rebecca. I am maybe done with 25% of the squares I am crochetting, at least they don't take so long per square.

3: I want to blog more often, so I am making it my goal to blog once a week. I just have to be better at planning my blog posts.
