Filled chocolates

Back in the beginning of November I found some cheap chocolate moulds in hard plastic in my local grocery store. They had 3 different kinds so I bought one of each and then I ordered some Callebaut chocolate from a store in Germany. And last weekend I decided it was time to try to make homemade filled chocolates.

First I made all of the fillings, which took some time, and then it was finally time to start playing with the chocolate. When you make filled chocolates it's very important that the chocolate has the right temperature, and I was a little worried about that, since this was my first attempt, but it wasn't that difficult and my chocolates turned out great 😋. I ended up making just over 2.5 kg.

Recycled Christmas card

The image with the trees is actually from an old Christmas card, which I saved from getteing thrown in the trash can at work a few years ago. I immediately saw that I could use that for a new card, and I do have another piece left, for another card. It is a pretty simple card, but I really like how it turned out:

Materials used:
An old Christmas card
Silver and white cardstock
Gittes Eget Design dies
Marianne Design stamp
Black ink and halfpearls

Materials used:
Gold and green cardstock
12x12 sheet with poinsettias (maybe from Papermania, but I'm not sure)

Advent candle decoration

Of course I also made an Advent candle decoration. Usually I make it with 4 candles, but this year I was kind of late with buying the candles, and so I could only find the one I used:

Again I kept it very simple, and only used a few decorations for it.

December 1st, Christmas candle decoration

Happy 1st of December 🎄🎅. So now the count down to Christmas has started, and here we always count down the days with a Christmas candle decoration. Here is the one I made this year:

Unlike my cards I almost always keep my candle decorations very simple. I found the star at the local grocery store and immediately knew, that I wanted to use it for the candle decoration this year.

Christmas calendar

November has been pretty busy for me, it started with a weekend getaway with some friends, and then we have been working on upgrading our bedroom with new floor, closets, colors and so on, so there hasn't been much time to be creative. My youngest, Rebecca, however, has made a calendar for me and filled it with goodies, so I'm looking forward to see what's in it. She made it out of empty toilet paper rolls and cardstock.

I think she did a really good job and I am so excited to see what's in it.

Crochet scarf and hat

Recently I found some pretty and cheap yarn in my local grocery store. And when I brought it home my youngest daughter proclaimed that I had to make a scarf and a hat for her in it. So I did, well at least I made a scarf, she wasn't too crazy about the hat, so I made it big enough for myself instead.

Birthday card and survival kit boks for Kim

Back in September my colleague Kim turned 50, but it happened right after we all got sent home to work from our home offices again, so we didn't get a chance to give him his gifts and celebrate him until here in October, where we all had to go to the same company course. To make him feel old - I know, we are such nice colleagues 😁 - I had made him a survival kit box which contained items that will come in handy when you get old. Inspiration to the items I found on Google, and then I found a wooden box at Søstrene Grene to hold all of the things. Of course I couldn't pass up the chance of decorating the box, so I found some papers from UHK Gallery to decorate it with. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures from the side, so you can only see the lid of the box. Here is how it turned out:

Materials used:
UHK Gallery - Weekend collection (Friday Dinner, both sides)
Kraft cardstock
China dies - 50
Dixi Craft dies - alphabeth

I also made a birthday card for him. As always I think it is hard to make cards for men, but I am happy with how it turned out.

Materials used:
Pion Design - Mr. Tom's Treasures
Simple and Basics - Slim card set
Gittes Eget Design - Tillykke, Basis Rektangler & Flag
Marianne Design - numbers (COL1347)
China die - frame around picture

Christmas cards made of scrap pieces

I am a huge fan of Maja Design and use their papers for a lot of my cards and so I also have a lot of scrap pieces, because I don't have the heart to throw away all those left over pieces, even though some are very small. So I have made two Christmas cards where I have used some of my scrap pieces.

Dies - Gittes Eget Design (Basis Rektangler & Flag, Strips Vandret)
Dies - Marianne Design (Snowflake LR0125 and Pine branch CR1378)
White cardstock
Halfpearls and hearts from my stash

Inspired by a card from Hobbybodens blog

Today I saw a card on Hobbybodens blog (link), which inspired me to make something similiar but with a little more splash, which I did by just adding one color to each card. I am pretty pleased with how they turned out, even though they are very CAS compared to what I usually make:

Materials used:
Dies - Gittes Eget Design (Strips Vandret, Midi & Maxi tillykke, Basis Rektangler & Flag)
Cardstock - white, black, turquoise and shiny lime green
Embossing folders - Cuttlebug and Sizzix
Stamp - La Blanche (Sheet metal)

Congratulations card

This week I bought something I have wanted to buy for a while - a hot foil machine from Spellbinders, and so when I received it Friday I immediately had to test it. I had before hand watched several YouTube videos about it and how it was also possible to use regular dies, and since I had also bought some new dies, I chose to try that. And I am pretty pleased with the outcome.

Materials used:
Spellbinders Rose gold hot foil
Rose gold cardstock from Tonic Studios
White cardstock

Christening cake for Frey

One of my colleagues had a son back in March and they asked me if I would make a cake for the party, which was here in August and so I made this cake:

The cake did have the boys full name on it, but since it is a very special name I have removed it on the picture for privacy reasons. It was my first attempt at making an elephant but I think it turned out really cute. I found a vidoe on YouTube and just followed the instructions in it.

The cake consists of 3 layers of vanilla cake (drømmekage), 1 layer of elderflower mousse but this time I had added white chocolate with lemon to it and 1 layer of strawberry and rhubarb mousse. It is coated with buttercream with elderflower juice and covered with homemade fondant. All decorations are also made with homemade fondant and then I used Royal Icing for the border around the cake.

Birthday card

Lately it has been really nice weather here in DK, so I must admit I haven't spend much time at my craft table, when it is this warm I prefer to be outside, and it can be a bit tricky to sit with paper etc. outside, so instead I have being working on my chrochet skills, because that is easy to do outside, but today I will show you this birthday card I made for a friend:

Materials used:
Maja Design - Denim and girls collection
White cardstock
China die (round frame)
Sue Wilsom butterfly die
Flowers from WOC
Halfpearls and sticker from stash

Crochet

When my summer vacation started 3 weeks ago, I decided I wanted to use some of the time on learning to crochet. So I have been watching lots of videos on YouTube and made several little samples, and I have so far made 3 dish cloths, but I will only show 2 of them here, since the third one got very crooked, so I didn't finish it with a border. But here are the 2 I have made:

The striped one is a corner to corner (C2C) and turned out to be really easy, and I can definitely recommend trying this pattern if you are a newbie like me.

Quick Christmas Cards

Last weekend I went to visit my Godparents, they are both over 80 so they are at high risk when it comes to the Corona virus, but they are good at staying at home and taking care of each other. It was really good to see that they are doing great and coping well with everything that is going on. I had made a little box with some different cards for them, so they have some for different occacions. Among them were some Christmas cards which I will show today. All the cards are made with papers that came with at magazine from Hunkydory - Cardmaking collection.

Other materials used:
Gold and Silver cardstock
White and light teal cardstock
Dies - Marianne Design, Yvonne Creatief, Card Making Magic, China die and Simple and Basic

A new layout of William

I have not made as many layouts of my son, as I have of the girls, so I thought it was about time I made another one for him. And since Maja Design has some great boyish papers I decided to use some of that with some school pictures from 3 years ago. And considering that I think it is really hard to make masculine cards and layouts I am very pleased with the outcome.
A few close-ups:

Materials used:
Maja Design – Denim & Friends collection, 12x12 and 6x6
Dusty Attic – Mini tabs #2, Word pack #6
Dutch Doobadoo stencil – Bricks
Stamps – Crealies No. 27 + one bought at the grocery store

Distress Ink – Vintage Photo
Pearls from my stash
Gesso and blue acrylic paint

Baby card

One of my colleagues had a baby boy at the end of March. The little boy wasn't due until here in May, so they were at the hospital for a while, but now they are at home. Due to the virus my colleague had to stay at the hospital the whole time, so we haven't seen him yet, and don't know when we will see him again, since we are all pretty much still work at home, but I have made a card now for them, so it is ready for when we can give him the baby's gift. This also gave me the oppurtunity to try out a new die set that I got for my birthday – the baby clothes line from Marianne Design. I am really happy with the outcome of this card, it's definitely one I will be making again.
