Isabellas birthday card

June 5th it was Isabellas 17th birthday, and as usual I made her a card, this time at the very last minute, since I had been pretty busy the week up to her birthday. Because of the Christmas stocking I had made for her, I had to get my sewing machine fixed, and so now that it is working again, I wanted to try to use it for stiching a card. I think it turned out okay, and I might use it again. Here is the result:

Materials used:
Craft-o-clock - Morning Dreams II, 6x6 collection
Grey and white cardstock
Gittes Eget Design - Tillykke die
NHH Design - leaves
Flowers from WOC
Grey soft tulle

Playing with Distress Ink

For this card I was playing with my Distress Inks to see if I could blend them together in a nice way, I think it worked out okay, but I would like to get my hands on some Distress Oxides since it should be easier with them. I think the card turned out okay, so I will try to make in colors suitable for males as well.
Materials used:
White cardstock
Gittes Eget Design dies – Frame and Tillykke
Distress Inks – Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry and Candied Apple

Butterfly card

In the fall I purchased a hot foil machine, and when I started to play with it I unfortunately discovered that I needed a new die cutting machine, since the one I had didn't put an even pressure on the plates. So recently I bought a new die cutting machine and since then I have made several cards with hot foil on them. This one I think turned out really pretty.

Using your leftover scrap pieces

I have a tendency to save pretty much all of my scrap pieces, because you never know, when they might come in handy. And then about a week ago I saw on Facebook this really cool card made out of leftovers, so I had to try that myself. It is super easy so I made both a birthday card and a Christmas card.

Materials used:
Scrap leftovers and gold cardstock
Simple and Basic dies
Gittes Eget Design dies

Birthday card for my Godfather

My Godfather turned 86 on February 1st, but due to the pandemic and all of the restrictions we couldn't go visit, but a card is always allowed, so at least he got that. When he was younger he often went fishing on the weekends and sometimes I went with him, and since I had some paper in my stash with fish on it, I thought it was perfect for him. On the picture some of the paper look brown, but in real life it is actually more of an olive green, that was just very hard to capture.

Materials used:
UHK Gallery - Wabi Sabi collection
Distress ink - Faded jeans
Spellbinders Matting Basics 6x6 dies
Gittes Eget Desing - Tillykke Midi & Maxi

Birthday card and survival kit boks for Kim

Back in September my colleague Kim turned 50, but it happened right after we all got sent home to work from our home offices again, so we didn't get a chance to give him his gifts and celebrate him until here in October, where we all had to go to the same company course. To make him feel old - I know, we are such nice colleagues 😁 - I had made him a survival kit box which contained items that will come in handy when you get old. Inspiration to the items I found on Google, and then I found a wooden box at Søstrene Grene to hold all of the things. Of course I couldn't pass up the chance of decorating the box, so I found some papers from UHK Gallery to decorate it with. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures from the side, so you can only see the lid of the box. Here is how it turned out:

Materials used:
UHK Gallery - Weekend collection (Friday Dinner, both sides)
Kraft cardstock
China dies - 50
Dixi Craft dies - alphabeth

I also made a birthday card for him. As always I think it is hard to make cards for men, but I am happy with how it turned out.

Materials used:
Pion Design - Mr. Tom's Treasures
Simple and Basics - Slim card set
Gittes Eget Design - Tillykke, Basis Rektangler & Flag
Marianne Design - numbers (COL1347)
China die - frame around picture

Inspired by a card from Hobbybodens blog

Today I saw a card on Hobbybodens blog (link), which inspired me to make something similiar but with a little more splash, which I did by just adding one color to each card. I am pretty pleased with how they turned out, even though they are very CAS compared to what I usually make:

A card and a cake

Recently one of my nephews turned 20 and his parents and girlfriend arranged a surprise party for him. And no party without a cake, so I made him a naughty cake with big boobs 😉.
The cake consisted of 3 layers of vanilla cake (drømmekage), 1 layer w/elderflower mousse and 1 w/strawberry and rhubarb mousse. It was iced with IMBC and covered with homemade fondant.

I also made a card to go with the present for him and that turned out this way:

White and kraft cardstock
Crealies – Star die
