Using scrap leftovers for cards

Another colleague quit his job and so we got together and chipped in for a little gift for him, and I made the card. I always find it hard to make masculine cards, so this time I chose to use some scraps from Maja Designs Denim & Friends collection.

Materials used:
Maja Design - Denim & Friends collection +  matching monochrome collection
Kraft and white cardstock
Simple & Basics dies
Gittes Eget Design dies
Crealies Star dies
Memento Paris Dusk
Stamp - unknown brand

A card and a cake

Recently one of my nephews turned 20 and his parents and girlfriend arranged a surprise party for him. And no party without a cake, so I made him a naughty cake with big boobs 😉.
The cake consisted of 3 layers of vanilla cake (drømmekage), 1 layer w/elderflower mousse and 1 w/strawberry and rhubarb mousse. It was iced with IMBC and covered with homemade fondant.

I also made a card to go with the present for him and that turned out this way:
Materials used:
13@rts – His & Hers Remastered collection 6x6
UHK Gallery – Old Fashioned Christmas collection
White and kraft cardstock
Crealies – Star die
Marianne Design – COL1347 (numbers)
Spellbinders – Triple Tear and Matting Basics 6x6
Dixi Craft – Alphabeth
Banners – cut by hand

A new layout of William

I have not made as many layouts of my son, as I have of the girls, so I thought it was about time I made another one for him. And since Maja Design has some great boyish papers I decided to use some of that with some school pictures from 3 years ago. And considering that I think it is really hard to make masculine cards and layouts I am very pleased with the outcome.
A few close-ups:

Materials used:
Maja Design – Denim & Friends collection, 12x12 and 6x6
Dusty Attic – Mini tabs #2, Word pack #6
Dutch Doobadoo stencil – Bricks
Stamps – Crealies No. 27 + one bought at the grocery store
Crealies die – Crea-Nest-Lies XXL no. 19 stars
Distress Ink – Vintage Photo
Pearls from my stash
Gesso and blue acrylic paint

Confirmation card for Andreas

For this card I used some brown card stock and a lot of scraps from Maja Designs "Denim & Friends" 6x6 collection plus an image from the 12x12 collection. I have used stamps from Crealies "Bits & Pieces" (on the background) and DixiCraft and used Distress Ink - Vintage Photo. The only die I have used is the banner from Marianne Design. The halfpearls and stars are from my stash. Here's the card:
With this card I participate in Scrap from your heart's challenge no. 21, you can find it HERE.

Mortens 40th birthday card and cake

My colleague Morten turned 40 just before Easter so we all chipped in to buy him a present and I made the card to go with it:

I have used papers from Maja Designs "Denim & Friends" collection, and the picture I found on Google. I have used dies from Spellbinders - Matting Basics 6x6, Marianne Design - Numbers, Tattered Lace - Happy Birthday and Crealies - Stars. The halfpearls are from my stash.

Since I also make cakes from time to time Morten had booked me to make a cake for his colleagues, so for once I actually got to taste the finished cake :-). Morten designed the graphics for the cake, so it was pretty easy for me. He was not happy about turning 40 - it made him feel old - hence the wheel chair.

The cake consists of 3 layers of chocolate cake, 1 layer of raspberrymousse and one layer of chocolatemousse. The cake is covered with Baileys butterfrosting before covered with homemade fondant.

4 birthday cards

My son went to a birthday party yesterday. It was 4 of his classmates who celebrated their birthdays together, so he needed 4 cards. I decided to use some of my scrap pieces from Maja Design. All the papers I have used are from their Christmas/Winter collections.

These are the cards for the two boys. Here I used star-dies from Crealies.

And these are the cards for the 2 girls. Here I used the Make-a-Wish die from Spellbinders D-lites and the banner is from Marianne Design. Here I also inked the edges with Vintage Photo from Distress Ink.

I made the cards very similar, just switched the papers around so that the cards didn't become identical.

A Christmas layout

A while back I made this Christmas layout. The picture is a from 2008 and is one taken by a photographer for our Christmas cards that year.
I have used papers from Maja Designs Christmas collections "A Gift for You" and "Home for the Holidays" and from "Vintage Frost Basics" plus some white cardstock. The 2 chipboard baubles are from Scrapiniec. I have used dies from Sizzix, Crealies and Precious Marieke. I used gesso and a stencil from Carabelle Studio for the scripture. All edges are distressed and I have used some silver thread, silver star half pearls and silver Stickles for decoration.

Here are a couple of close ups of the layout:
